Make Up Practice
As part of our horror trailer we need to practice different kinds of make up in which would make someone look scary and like they have been in a horror film. We decided to practice bruises and cuts on Harrison so we could start learning how to make them look realistic - we used a range of different make up including Rainbow Circle Black eyes body make up along with coagulated blood gel, we also used normal make up such as mascara, eyeliner and eye shadows. Creating the bruises was quite difficult as we didn't want to make it look fake - it was hard getting the right blend of colours to make it look realistic. It took quite a while getting used to the colours and how they blended together but eventually we go the hang of it. The cuts were also quite difficult as the fake blood seemed to go everywhere meaning the cut didn't look real, it almost just looked like we had drawn on the hand. Eventually we go the hang of how to create a cut as well. As a group we have decided that the cuts and bruises can look really affective especially when filming. These are the images from our first attempt as horror makeup:

19/10/2016 - Mask Making
This is the mask that Kian and I made during one of our two hour sessions - we made it as a pratice mask to see what it would look like. We decided that the mask would look better with real news paper as it would look older and relalstic.

Make Up Practice - 16/11/2016

These are some image from make-up pratice that Aimee did to Kian - the aim of this was to be able to create a bruise on the victim that was realistic and real looking. It took me quite a while to get the hang of it but after a few attemps and help from miss, I manage to create a bruise that was quite realistic. It took a while becuase you had to get the right amount of colours and the right shades without making it look too red or purple. I got the hang of it in the end and managed to create some that look okay and real. I also attempted to create some cuts and a bloody nose - I really enjoyed this as it was quite fun creating the cuts and putting it on top of some bruises.
Original Murderer Lookbook/Costume Practice for Test Footage 29/11/2016

We recorded some test footage with our actor (the Original Murderer). We are still figuring out his costume and mainly wanted to obtain some shots to see what his screen presence is like. To improvise, we made him look scruffy/messy.

We got in contact with our makeup artist, Amy Louise, to add bruises to our actor's knuckles and our victim's face.
