Genre + Sub- Genre – Slasher + Poltergeist

Target Audience – 18+ due to the fact it will be gory

Synopsis –

would start homing in to a family and this family (the Beckers) and they're very poor and not much they can do and they do not own a lot. the eldest child aged 16 witnessed his mum being abused by his step dad, causing her to miscarriage. it then fast forwards 5 years to see the son seeking revenge after his mother dies (idea subject to change) film would be in the killers eyes,

Inferred Meaning/ Representation/ Theme -

can show you shouldn't tank advantage of what you already have as it could go at any second and that maybe revenge isn't the best solution

Characters; Propp Theory Applied –

The Villain/Antagonist: Chad Beckers (the son) but he can also be seen as the hero. As well as the step dad can be seen as a villain also because he is abusing the mother at the time and that is considered extremely wrong.

Hero: It can be a multitude of characters as they all do both heroic things and dangerous and silly things, like Chad for example as he wants to save the day but he does so by seeking revenge

Narrative – Todorov Theory Applied –

Equilibrium: The Beckers family are struggling but they're making the best out of a bad situation and they're getting through it.

Disequilibrium: The son starts to see the step dad abusing the mother and he starts to go through a million emotions, causes a massive upset.

Resolution: He ends up taking revenge on the step dad, this doesn't make a resolution as this doesn't resolve anything and it would be shown at the end and it could potentially cause another disequilibrium

Final Trailer Ideas

Main Objectvies:

After sitting as a group and discussing our ideas we came up with some ideas we wanted to put into our trailer - we took ideas from each indivdial treatment and put elements into the final trailer - we decdied we like the idea of the killer killing one by one (from Aimee's treatment) and also the dismembering people (From Jamies Treatment). We also liked the idea of things disapearing, this could be people or items which came from Harrison treatment - we also want to include a backstory which shows why the killer has become who he is, we want it to flicker in time. (from Kians treatment)

We also like the idea of our main character having a split personality - they could be a smart business person who is a killer on the inside - we also had an idea of a child growing up with a bad past and we see him become a murder; this links in with our idea of a backstory.
